Here is a look at the key characters in the NBA lockout: NBA

David Stern: NBA commissioner since 1984, has been with the league since 1966 and this CBA could be his swan song as commissioner.

Adam Silver: NBA deputy commissioner and the heir apparent to Stern. Has been with the league 14 years and oversees NBA Entertainment.

Dan Rube: Deputy general counsel and also the league's senior vice president who joined the league in 1995. His principal responsibilities include collective bargaining, management of the salary cap system, and the formulation and implementation of league revenue-sharing policies.

Kevin Murphy: Economist for NBPA, who teaches at the University of Chicago. In 1997, he received the John Bates Clark medal awarded to the most promising economist under the age of 40.

FEDERAL MEDIATOR

George Cohen: Director of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, which provides free mediation service in contract negotiation disputes between employecheap jerseysrs and their unionized employees.
